According to (R.M.) media, the Taliban publicly flogged 52 individuals in various provinces of Afghanistan this week for different offenses, among whom only 8 were women.

On Tuesday, in Kapisa, Parwan, and Ghazni provinces, 9 people including three women were given public corporal punishments.

On Wednesday, the Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that 23 people in four provinces received corporal punishments for various offenses.

The Supreme Court’s statement noted that 12 people were sentenced by the Primary Court for the Prevention of Narcotics and Intoxicants in Kabul for selling and trafficking narcotic tablets (Zykp).

Sources reported that these offenders were sentenced to 6 to 8 months of imprisonment plus 10 to 39 lashes.

Also, according to the Urban Primary Court of Khost, six people including two women were sentenced to corporal punishment for extramarital relations and sodomy.

Another report from the Primary Court of Mohammad Agha district in Logar stated that two people, including a woman, were sentenced for extramarital relations, with punishments ranging from 30 to 39 lashes.
