“Afghan Women’s Narratives Through Art” Exhibition Opens at Yale University
The art exhibition “Afghan Women’s Narratives Through Art” opened on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
The event was organized by the Committee for Refugee and Immigrant Women (CRIW) and hosted by the Middle East and North Africa Cultural Association (MENACC) at Yale, with collaboration from the Asian-American Cultural Center, the Council on African Studies, the Council on Middle Eastern Studies, and the Yale Department of Art.
The exhibition aimed to showcase and celebrate the artistic works of Afghan women living in New Haven, highlighting their experiences of migration and adaptation to a new life. The displayed works reflected the resilience, storytelling, and personal experiences of these women, exploring themes such as migration, identity, and the concept of home.
