Ancient artifacts discovered at a shrine in Laghman

Officials from the Taliban’s Directorate of Information and Culture in Laghman province announced the discovery of 13 historical artifacts, believed to be 300–350 years old, at the "Mia Sahib Dera" shrine in Alishang district.

According to Maulvi Abdul Noor Rasooli, the director of the department, the artifacts include a bed, a chest, a spear, a jug, candlesticks, a table, a water pot, spoons, and other items. These relics have been transferred to the provincial museum for preservation.

The shrine, named after Mia Abdul Karim, who is buried there, holds cultural significance in the region.

This discovery comes amid prior reports of illegal excavation and trafficking of ancient artifacts from Laghman, raising concerns about preserving the province's heritage.
