A Woman Killed During Taliban Court Hearing in Herat

Local sources in Herat say that on Saturday, September 26, a woman was shot dead during a public hearing at the Taliban’s appellate court in the province.
According to the sources, the woman was the wife of Abdul Rahman Moradi, a former member of the Herat Provincial Council, who was on trial for allegedly being involved in her husband’s murder. Moradi was killed at his home last year.
Sources report that during the court session, one of the attendees opened fire on Moradi’s wife, killing her inside the courtroom.
They add that her alleged involvement in her husband’s death had not yet been proven by the court, and there was a possibility that she might have been acquitted today.
The Taliban authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
