Taliban constructs 26 religious schools in three months
Statistics from the Taliban's Ministry of Education reveal that the group has built 26 religious schools in various provinces of Afghanistan over the past three months.
The data shows that during the months of October, November and December, schools were constructed in provinces such as Balkh, Paktia, Paktika, Sare Pul, Kapisa, Farah, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Khost, Ghazni, and others.
According to the statistics, 14 schools were built in October, six in November, and six in December. The cost of constructing and renovating these schools is estimated at approximately 100 million Afghanis.
The Taliban's Ministry of Education states that there are over 21,000 religious schools across Afghanistan, with more than three million students currently enrolled.
Previously, Human Rights Watch warned about the increasing number of religious schools in Afghanistan, expressing concerns that the rise of such institutions could lead Afghan society toward greater extremism.
The surge in religious school construction underlines the Taliban's focus on ideological education and religious fundamentalism, raising alarms among human rights groups and the international community about the long-term implications for Afghan society.
