The 10th anniversary of the Afghan-American Conference will take place from Friday to Sunday, July 18–20, 2025, at the University of California, Berkeley, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since its inception in 2015, this annual gathering has become one of the largest and most influential cultural, social, and educational events for the Afghan-American community. Every year, it brings together hundreds of Afghan immigrants, civic activists, academics, writers, artists, and students from across the United States.

This year’s theme, Resilient and Rising, reflects the community’s strength, perseverance, and growth over the past decade. According to the organizers’ official website, “This theme symbolizes how, like the mountains that hold deep spiritual meaning for Afghans, this community continues to stand firm and grow despite sweeping changes and ongoing challenges.”

Participants will engage in workshops, dialogue sessions, and cultural and artistic programs to explore topics such as cultural identity, social justice, the immigrant experience, and the role of youth in shaping the future of the diaspora.

The conference also serves as a space for intergenerational connection—an opportunity for Afghan-Americans of different backgrounds and ages to share experiences, build relationships, and strengthen both social and professional networks.

Above all, the event aims to foster solidarity, facilitate knowledge exchange, and elevate the presence of the Afghan-American community in the United States. The organizers hope that through meaningful experiences and lasting connections, participants will play a stronger role in shaping the cultural and social future of the diaspora.
