Taliban shuts down two girls' educational centres in Daikundi

Local sources in Daikundi province report that the Taliban has closed two English language centers in the districts of Khadir and Sangtakht-Bandar.

In Sangtakht-Bandar, the Taliban shut down one center and arrested three teachers. Despite efforts by local elders to secure their release, the teachers remain in detention.

Similarly, in Khadir district, the Taliban reportedly closed the New Horizon language center, arresting its manager and two male teachers. Four female teachers from the same center were also detained but were later released after local elders intervened and provided assurances.

This follows a broader Taliban policy prohibiting girls above sixth grade from attending educational institutions in several provinces across Afghanistan.
