Taliban impose new night-time restrictions in Badakhshan and Badghis
The Taliban have introduced new nighttime restrictions in Fayzabad, Badakhshan, and Qadis district, Badghis, further tightening control over residents’ daily lives.
In Fayzabad, the Taliban’s Third Security Division issued an order banning public movement after 10 p.m. Additionally, women are prohibited from appearing in public without wearing "Islamic hijab." The directive also forbids shaving beards and adopting "Western-style" haircuts, calling them un-Islamic.
In Qadis district, the Taliban police command has prohibited movement after 9 p.m. unless justified by a "religious necessity." The order warns that violators will face punishment.
Since their return to power, the Taliban have increased restrictions nationwide, claiming such measures are necessary for maintaining security. However, the growing limitations have faced widespread criticism for infringing on personal freedoms.
