The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health has announced plans to hire religious preachers for health centers in Kabul, introducing 11 positions for “inviter and Guidance” roles.

The ministry has invited eligible candidates to collect application forms and job descriptions from the General Staff Management Office of Kabul’s Public Health Directorate. Among the roles is a position for a female preacher  at the BHC clinic.

This announcement comes as the Taliban continues to impose restrictions on women, including a recent ban on their medical education in institutes. Over the past three years, many doctors and healthcare workers—especially women—have migrated, leaving health centers severely understaffed.

The Taliban has also enforced strict limitations on women in healthcare, including restrictions on their movement and dress code, exacerbating challenges within the country’s healthcare system.
