Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban's Foreign Minister, acknowledged the valuable contributions of Ebrahim Raisi and Hossein Amirabdollahian in fostering regional cooperation with the Taliban. Following the official confirmation of their deaths in a helicopter crash on May 19th, Muttaqi met with the Iranian president's special representative in Kabul.

Muttaqi highlighted that both Raisi and Abdullahian played crucial roles in strengthening ties and collaboration between Iran and the Taliban. This acknowledgment underscores the significance of their efforts in enhancing regional diplomatic and strategic relationships.

 

Ebrahim Raisi, the head of government in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and his companions, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday, May 19th.
