The high-ranking Taliban delegation's trip to Tehran, led by Abdul Ghani Baradar and Amir Khan Muttaqi, concluded without a meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei. Unlike other visiting officials, Khamenei did not accept Baradar and Muttaqi.

In the past two days, Ali Khamenei has met with several prominent leaders, including the president of Tunisia, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, the Emir of Qatar, and the prime ministers of Pakistan, Iraq, and Armenia, among other foreign dignitaries.

According to images released by the Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban Foreign Ministry, the Taliban delegation had an informal and brief meeting with the Qatari delegation and the head of the political bureau of Hamas during their trip to Tehran.

Following reports of the accident involving the helicopter carrying the president and his companions, Taliban officials expressed concern. After confirming the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the Taliban extended their condolences over the former president of Iran's passing. Subsequently, a high-ranking Taliban delegation travelled to Tehran. Additionally, the political deputy of the Taliban in Kabul visited the Iranian embassy and met with Iranian diplomats.
