A Woman Killed by Her Husband in Nangarhar

Local Taliban authorities in Nangarhar province have reported that a man has hanged his wife to death in the Batikot district.
Seyed Tayeb Hamad, the spokesperson for the provincial police command, confirmed the incident and stated that the murder took place on Saturday, April 12, in the Mashwano area of Batikot.
According to him, the woman was hanged by her husband. The motive for the crime has been identified as domestic violence.
Since the Taliban’s return to power, cases of domestic violence and murders resulting from it have seen a significant increase. The restriction of women's access to support services and the lack of an independent and accountable judicial system have contributed to the growing number of such crimes.
